On 29th August, I've gone for a lesson to learn how to create Chinese Traditional Bridal Hair Accessories. During the lesson, I've learnt a lot about the materials which is used to create the accessories and experience the amounts of sewing the professional did with their job. I feel revered with the professionals as it is not easy and they need to sew the jewels, ornaments, threads and every single bits need time and effort. I found the most interesting part is to create the flower shape which is the red one in the middle. In order to create this, I have sewn a small flower and a big flower and then sewed together to make the flower look more realistic. Overall, I found this course very interesting and I really enjoy the process and the outcome of my works.

Taiwan

This is my first time went to travel with my friends and we have chosen to go to travel in Taiwan. We have organised and planned the trip together and I think this is one of the interesting experience when travel with friends. We have planned to go four places in Taiwan. The first stop, we have get off the flight at Kaohsiung and then, we went to Kenting. After that, we travel from Kenting to Taichung and the last stop is at Taipei. During this trip. I can practice my Mandarin a lot and also it enhances our friendships.

1st stop: Kaohsiung

At Kaohsiung, we have went to Pier-2 Art Center and we have seen a lot of  modern art sculptures, decorated buildings and also galleries, etc. 

 I went to a nano block shop there and on above are the photos taken there. The last photo shows the nano blocks of the famous places in Taiwan and I think they look really cute. 

2nd stop: Kenting

At Kenting, we went to the Kenting Night Market at night. 

The rock behind me on the photos below is called the 'Sail Rock' and also named the 'Nixon's head'. I found it very interesting as you can see it looks like half of a human's head in the sea. 

3rd stop: Taichung

At Taichung, we have gone to Miyahara (Gong Yuan) eye clinic which is a place where they sell food with unique packaging ( I have bought some souvenirs there as well)  and there are a lot of visitors went there everyday. The reason it is called 'Miyahara eye clinic' is because it was built during the Japanese Occupation by a Japanese optometrist and it was the largest eye clinic at that time. 

At Gong Yuan eye clinic, they sell many unique flavours ice-cream as well with different toppings you can choose. You can see the ice cream photos on above and also the interior of the shop. It is my favourite place of this trip and I like how this place is very unique and how this building is full of history background.

4th stop: Taipei

At Taipei, we have went to one of the famous street night market named 'Shida Night Market'. There are a lot of restaurants, shops that sells clothes, jewelleries, etc. We have tried a lot of traditional Taiwan food there as well. 

We also went to the exhibition 'The Face of Leonardo' and there are 55 pieces of Leonardo's works from the Renaissance to the 20th century exhibited. 

Disney's Beauty and the Beast Musical

I have gone to see the musical Disney's Beauty and the Beast on the 26th June with my sister. The musical is a celebration of Disney's Beauty and the Beast's 20th anniversary on stage and one of their international tour stop took place in Macau. This musical had ran for 13 years on Broadway and is directed by Rob Roth, choreographed by Matt West. Ann Hould-Ward is the costume designer of this musical and she has won the Tony Award with her work.

Disney's Beauty and the Beast is about the love story of the Beast who is a young prince before but trapped in a spell placed by an enchantress and a clever young woman named Belle who lived in a provincial town. The curse will gone when the Beast learn how to love people and also be loved. Time flies and later on in the story, if the Beast does not learn the lesson, he and his household will stay the same forever.

Beauty and the Beast is my favourite Disney's classic story and I really enjoy watching this musical. I like how the creative team has bought the story to life on the stage and the stage design is amazing. The costumes and the styling reminds me of the film and the most unforgettable part in the story is when Belle wears the beautiful yellow evening gown (the photo on above). 

Thailand

During early June time, I went to Bangkok, Thailand with my sister for Travel and also to celebrate her birthday. I like to travel as when you travel to a different country, you can experience their cultures and find something new which you haven't seen before in where you have been living. 

During this trip, me and my sister have gone to Traditional Thai Food Festival and we have tried a lot of nice food there :D 

Also, we have gone to a place named 'Asiatique' and it is a famous culturally riverside mall and night market. To get there, we have to take the boat and when we were on the boat, the scenery is absolutely beautiful, especially at night when we left Asiatique. 

 On above is my favourite photo and I really like the colours of the sky. I remember this photo was taken around 5 pm and my sister has captured the beautiful sunset and also... my back :P.

At Asiatique, we have found many things such as handmade products, cosmetics, clothings, Ferris Wheel, etc. 

Make-up for a special occasion

Model: Mum (Josephina Chan)

I have done a makeup look on my mum for a special occasion. I've asked her what kind of makeup she wants and then adjusted the look for her. She told me that she wanted a natural but also glamorous look and on below are the photos taken after I've applied the makeup for her. For the base, I've used Bobbi Brown extra repair foundation as it gives a natural and healthy looking. After that, I have filled the brows with grey brow shadow. Then, I applied concealer on the areas like dark circles, cheeks and around the nose. For some highlight on the face, I have used the Illamasqua sculpting powder duo palette (colour: Lumos). Then, I've used the Illamasqua  reflection palette eye shadow (colour: Precipice) as the base on the eyelids and then applied (colour: Graphica) on the same palette. The reason I used brown colour as the colour is not too strong but it gives a glamorous and natural looking. Then, I curled the lashes with the lash curler and applied mascara on both upper and lower lashes. Also, I have drawn eyeliner on the upper lash line to make the eyes appeal bigger. In order to give a healthy skin looking, I have used a orangey pink blush to create this effect. At last, I have applied a purplish red colour lipstick to add glamour to the whole look.

Solent Graduate Fashion Show 2015

During 19th May 2015, I have worked for Solent Graduate Fashion Show as a make-up artist and through this experience, I have learnt a lot about working and the process at the backstage.
The makeup look mainly focus on clean glowy skin with a bit shine on the face to create healthy looking skin. We have used brow mascara and brow shadow for the brow makeup and this helps to give a natural look. For the eye shadow, we have used a sparkling silver colour. Wet look is also used here and in order to create this effect, we have pinched the lashes together after applied the mascara. A light pink blush on the cheeks and lips to create a natural looking. At the backstage, we have applied gloss on the cheeks and lids to complete the whole look. For male models, the make-up look remain simple and natural looking.
